Staffordshire LOC Virtual AGM and Election, Wednesday 21st October 2020Staffordshire LOC's virtual (online) 2020 AGM will take place on Wednesday 21 October at 7.00pm. This is your opportunity to find out about the work of the committee in support of the optical professions in Staffordshire over the last year. Naturally, there will be special emphasis on the challenges that we all faced during the COVID-19 pandemic, as well as the LOC's vision for the recovery phase, and for the uncertain months that still lie ahead of us. All Staffordshire optometrists and dispensing opticians are warmly invited to join the committee at its virtual AGM, newcomers in particular. If you would like to attend, please let me know by reply. ELECTION In addition, this year's AGM will feature full committee election where 14 days prior to the AGM, all thirteen positions on the committee will be opened up for election. The new committee will include at least two Dispensing Opticians, two Optical Contractors (at least one independent and one multiple practice [Optometrist/ Dispensing Optician]), two Optical Performers [Optometrist], and one Hospital Optometrist. Any enthusiastic contractors and performers working in Staffordshire who feel strongly motivated to help the LOC with its valuable work are encouraged to apply, but they will first need to seek nomination from a fellow Staffordshire-based optometrist or dispensing optician. All nominees will need to submit a short biography (max 200 words) - please use this Nomination form. Nominations and biographies must reach me by no later than Wednesday 7 October 2020 by emailing admin@staffsloc.co.uk Biographies will be circulated to the profession on Thursday 8 October along with full voting instructions.
