Please note that this guidance is subject to change so please make sure that you periodically check College website.
Lateral Flow Testing
NHSE circulated an email to all contractors on December 16th with regards to access to Lateral Flow Testing of COVID-19 of asymptomatic of patient facing staff. Please click here for your reference. Please note that the closing date for orders has been extended to 17th January 2021.
Optical practice staff are included in the second priority group for access to vaccination as front line heath workers.
NHSE update last week:
The Regional Primary Care Commissioning team is continuing to work with STPs to confirm vaccination of all front line workers directly linked to the team i.e. Pharmacy, Optometry and Dental teams and the final arrangements for accessing these have not yet been confirmed. We will share with all our NHS contracted services the details of how to access COVID vaccinations once confirmed.
NHS BSA have sent an update to all contractors on 12th January 2021, regarding vaccination of primary staff, which you can view here for your reference.
In addition, the LOC has been in touch with CCG Vaccinations Team/Cell and is awaiting their response. Meanwhile, it would help to facilitate the process more efficiently if you could all securely collate the names/ numbers for patient facing staff numbers for your practice. In addition, you may also be asked to provide NHS numbers for each member of staff. Please have this information ready and available at short notice. We will be it touch as soon as we hear back from them. Thank you.
