Staffordshire Referral Pathways 15th April 2020

You will have received a constant stream of information regarding how to deliver essential and urgent eye care services in community practice. You will be providing these services using both GOS and MECS platforms using telephony, video consultations and where necessary, face to face examination.

  • We are just going to take this opportunity to remind you on the Referral pathways for all Staffordshire regions. Please do review the relevant document for your region and share with all your staff as well.

  • It is worth remembering that the main reason for existence of extended primary eye care services like MECS is to enable more patient management within the community. This is more important now than ever before, whether you have 'seen' the patient using GOS or MECS examination

  • To this end, if you have any clinical queries during COVID-19 period, then you may contact LOC Community Services Leads:
         North Staffs: sih.razvi@yahoo.co.uk
         South Staffs: markmccracken@live.co.uk

  • If your query is a specific to extended primary eyecare services (MECS etc), then you can contact the PES Clinical Governance & Performance Lead (CGPL) direct and cc Alison Lowell at the LOC Office.

Clinical Governance & Performance Lead- Jagdeep Singh: jagdeep.singh@primaryeyecare.co.uk
        LOC Secretary- Alison Lowell: admin@staffsloc.co.uk
