PEATS/MECS & GRR OSCEs at Staffordshire Local Optical Committee

PEATS/MECS & GRR OSCEs

Primary Eyecare (Shropshire & Staffordshire) Ltd (SAS PEC) will shortly be running a LOCSU MECS/PEARS Part B (OSCEs) and a GRR OSCEs assessment.  The event will take place on Thursday, 14th July, at Prince & Bates Opticians, 193 Station Road, Burton on Trent, DE14 1BH with the first round of assessments taking place from 6pm.

Optometrists from Staffordshire are strongly encouraged to attend, given the possibility that a PEATS service may be commissioned in your area (if not already), and should this happen we need optometrists who are trained and accredited to carry out this service.  The LOCSU MECS/PEARS qualification is a national accreditation that is transferable to other parts of the country, so it would be in your interests to attain it.

Staffordshire LOC will pay the assessment costs for all optometrists who wish to take part.  If you have yet to begin the WOPEC PEARS training, it’s not too late.  Please contact me and I will provide you with a log-in to the WOPEC website’s distance learning material but, you will not be allowed to attend the Part B practical assessments until you have successfully completed the Part A exercises!

The candidate slots for these OSCEs have now been released and can be accessed through the following links:
